Rumor mills are churning speculations hinting the much-awaited MacBook Pro 2016 is likely to make an appearance at Apple's super colossal event, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday, June 13.

If rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, the purported MacBook will feature a new OLED touch pad. As far as storage, RAM, and graphics are concerned, the Cupertino-based tech giant is likely to give the new laptop a complete overhaul that will reportedly encompass longer battery life. In addition, the new MacBook could pack an Intel Skylake CPU and feature more USB Type-C ports and get rid of the backwards compatibility.

But these are not all the speculations rumor mills are swirling. Another report that surfaced online tease the butterfly keys that Apple has unified with its new MacBooks. Rumors further hint a removable screen, similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro. Another possibility connected to the purported laptop is that it will be comparatively thinner than Asus ZenBook 3, the model that out shined Apple's Retina MacBook in terms of size, EcumenicalNews reported.

It is worth noting that last month Apple's other MacBook received a specifications overhaul. Apple has three models:
1) The MacBook 2) MacBook Air and 3) Macbook Pro.

In terms of the specifications refresh, the aforementioned MacBook got quicker memory, faster storage and processor, in addition to a new rose gold variant.

However, several tech publications have reported that Apple is secretly working away on a new edition of the Pro as well.

Just like is the case for all upcoming devices nowadays, the purported new Macbook was not sparred from its hastily-snapped picture surfacing online as well. The leaked photograph indicated that Apple may dump the function keys that run across the top of the keyword and replace it with the aforesaid OLED touch bar.

As far as the price of the said MacBook Pro 2016 is concerned, speculations hint Apple will place it in at the existing price points and refrain from flaunting the current model. This imply the new MacBook Pro 2016 will be priced at £999 (13-inch model) and £1,599 (15-inch model), Mirror reported.

There are several reports indicating that the new MacBook may support VR (virtual reality), which apparently is the reason behind the device's delayed release. This rumor stems from Apple's recent acquisition of Flyby Media - the same team that was behind the 3D positioning software for Google-owned Project Tango - besides, back in January, there were reports that Apple has hired the acclaimed Computer Science Professor Doug Bowman, who is considered as one of the world's best VR experts.

WWDC 2016 is slated to run from June 13 to June 17. In addition to announcements related to iOS updates and the MacBook Pro 2016, details about the MacBook Air could also be divulged at the event.
