Apple is fully expected to release a new iPhone this fall and while most reports suggest that will be in Sept., the release could come a month later.

Brian White, an analyst with Cantor Fitzgerald, learned from unnamed industry sources there will be two versions of the iPhone, one in Sept. and one in Oct. According to BGR, White makes trips to Asia every year to check in on his sources within the companies that produce Apple's latest and greatest.

"Our visit provided us with incremental confidence in the ramp of Apple's product pipeline this fall," White wrote in a memo obtained by BGR. "For example, our research indicates that Apple will launch the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 in September, and we believe the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 could be announced at a similar time or shortly thereafter in October. As such, we are confident that the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will be launched this year."

White's information aligns itself with several popular rumors about the nature of Apple's impending iPhone release. For example, since Apple released its iPhone 5S/5C side-by-side last year, the company has been expected to do the same this year.

The prevailing rumor has been that Apple will release a 4.7-inch screen iPhone 6 in Sept. followed by a 5.5-inch "iPhablet" later. White reported the second iPhone will come in Oct., sooner than other sources would have guessed since Apple's suppliers were reportedly having trouble with the phone's battery.

Cementing White's claim, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with KGI Securities revered especially for his past Apple insider information, also reported Apple will release its first iPhone 6 in Sept. followed by a second. According to a report from GottaBeMobile, Kuo did not have specific details on the iPhone 6's features. The analyst correctly reported some of the iPhone 5S' main features ahead of its release last year.

The main new feature everyone seems to agree upon is a larger screen. The current iPhone has a 4-inch screen, but the biggest rumor is that Apple is moving into phablet territory with a smartphone screen more than five inches. BGR recently released a leaked image of what a certain Weibo user claims to be the iPhone 6.

Just as the company traditionally releases a new iPhone in the fall, Apple is strictly tight-lipped about device details up until the moment their devices hit the shelves. Apple's last two iPhones were released on the third Friday in Sept., pegging this year's model's release date on Sept. 19.
