iPhone 8 News: More Employees Being Hired For iPhone 8’s Production, But Device May Be On Limited Supply At Launch [VIDEO]
The much awaited Apple iPhone 8 is expected to surprise tech fans as it marks the 10th anniversary of Apple handsets. The delay of the mobile device's release date made Apple fans impatient, but reports are claiming that the delay will be beneficial. Nonetheless, the iPhone 8 is said to be limited when it launches in September.
The production of the 5.8-inch OLED display for the upcoming Apple device is ongoing, but still suffering from low yields. The Cupertino based tech titan will have a hard time to ship 50-60 million OLED-based iPhone 8 before 2017 ends, considering OLED panel's current supply, Digi Times reported.
However, this could indicate that the display material on the 10th anniversary iPhone is unique. Considering the unique display material of iPhone 8 is the real cause of the production issues, the device could definitely surprise its consumers.
World's leading manufacturing companies such as Pegatron, Wistron and Foxconn, are reportedly exerting more efforts for iPhone 8's production. These companies are said to be hiring more employees for their iPhone assembly lines.
Meanwhile, Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis, made it known that the iPhone 8 will be available with an integrated USB-C Power Delivery chip as well as a 10W power adapter with USB-C connector. The Cypress Semiconductor company will be Apple's supplier for the USB-C Power Delivery chips, Mac Rumors reported.
Nevertheless, analyst Curtis suggested that the upcoming iPhone 8's chip will be the same in the recent Apple iPad Pro 10.5-inch model. The upcoming iPhone would be able to charge quickly with USB-C.
That being the case, the iPhone 8, which is said to come along with a 3D-sensing camera, will roll out alongside the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus in September. Tech experts are expecting Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 to have a price tag of more than $1,000.
