eSports Continues To Grow In University Of Minnesota ; Unsptoppable Worldwide [VIDEO]

Electronic sports, popularly known as eSports, have grown exponentially across the world. The industry is very well-known in the Twitter social media platform.

ESports tournaments have the capability of selling out stadiums and give away millions of dollars in prizes. College eSports clubs have started to emerge all around the world. The University of Minnesota is just one of the many college and universities involved.

Evan Christensen and his team from the University of Minnesota said it teamwork, communication and dedication is important. The team plays a multiplayer game called Heroes of the Storm that involves strategy planning.

They are set to compete against other 10 big schools. Last semester they competed against teams from Michigan, Purdue and Indiana, Christensen said.

They have about two dozen gamers in the club. They haven't won any scholarships yet but they are positioning their selves on that goal in the future. He added that they are trying to build an infrastructure for future gamers who would possible compete for scholarships or prize money, KARE 11 reported.

This new community that eSports has built at the University of Minnesota allow gamers to take passion and work together to solve challenges. It comes as no surprise, as the world of eSports continues to expand as colleges and universities have adapted and supported the new culture.

PVP Live reported the Twitter Marketing arm recently released stats alongside New York Times' NewFronts digital media events and presentations, which is mostly aimed at advertisers. It showed there was more than 250 billion Twitter interactions about gaming, which strongly indicates that any advertising and broadcast plans.

Over the last few years the gaming field platform has garnered new followers and enthusiasts. The bigger the community gets the more colleges and universities are offering scholarships and support for their eSports team, which paves a good way for student gamers everywhere.
