Bungie's follow-up to the very popular space adventure first-person shooter game is highly anticipated, particularly given a slight bump in quality of the original game. This year, Bungie is embarking on a long, treacherous journey. Bungie and Activision are readying for one of the biggest gaming event of the year, the release date for "Destiny 2," Bungie's much-talked sequel to the 2014's original Destiny game.

Bungie has made a great job of keeping the Destiny fans with a slew of improvements and DLC expansions. Amassing around 30 million Destiny players, with the potential to grow in the next couple of days. However, Bungie's hugely popular online-only multiplayer first-person shooter video game, which was first released in September 2014, is about to come to an end. Destiny's days are numbered, with Bungie's final event "Age of Triumph" currently engaging the millions of players on board.

The sequel, "Destiny 2," is just around the corner, waiting for the big official launch date. Developer Bungie has done a great job of building hype and buzz around the sequel. The company has achieved its goal without exposing or revealing much information to the public. While Destiny fans have already know that a major gameplay reveal; has been set for May 18 of this year, the studio remains tight-lipped about everything. This means that most of the game still shrouded in mystery.

Fortunately, this week, the gaming world has managed to uncover that mystery thing that lurked deep inside Bungie's next first-person shooter game "Destiny 2," Bungie has just started to open the door. Thanks to Bungie, fans now have some great idea of what to expect from the sequel. They also know that Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks will be making a return in the sequel, according to GameRant.

According to GameRant, one of the major questions that potential Destiny 2 players might have about the game is how Bungie will going to handle classes and abilities in the new Destiny game. Thankfully, Destiny fans will be getting all the help they need, as Bungie started to share more about the upcoming game. In a recent "Destiny 2" promotion on Twitter, Bungie does mention these two tricky words "mysterious world" and "devastating new combat abilities," which have fascinated many Destiny fans.

What exactly this mysterious world along the devastating new combat abilities will be is anyone's guess. Not much information is known about "Destiny 2," but speculation and rumors are sure to abound, starting today until May 18. Reports said that Bungie might wipe the slate clean with subclasses, but there still no guarantee on this.

There's no ending on fan's imagination. Some have speculated that Bungie might feature completely new subclasses, one that is based on new elemental concepts. Some are pointing to Decay, an idea that has been around for a while. Bungie is rumored to do the same things on "Destiny 2."

And then, there's another popular theory, one in which the sequel completely reworks combat to be less subclass based, Bungie is rumored to be considering this idea. But Destiny fans are expecting more, combat abilities that are completely new, one that is not element-based.

"Destiny 2" was originally planned for a September 2016 release date, however, due to some unexplained technical problems the release date has been moved. Then, on February 11, 2016, Bungie made a huge announcement, "Destiny 2" would release in 2017. But unlike the previous and original Destiny game, "Destiny 2" would also release on Microsoft Windows, which Bungie confirmed last March 2017.

Bungie's next FPS shooter game "Destiny 2" is slated for release this coming September 8, 2017, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. To learn more about "Destiny 2" and how to pre-order the game and get into the Beta Early Access Program, check out the Destiny game official website.
