Android Nougat Update Officially Rolls Out to More Nexus Handsets; Google Pixel, Other Devices Receiving Soon!

Android Nougat update currently rolls out to older Nexus devices and Moto G4 Plus. A few more handsets will reportedly get the new software soon.

Moto G4 Plus Nougat Update

Moto G4 Plus owners in the US can now update their device to Android Nougat. However, the rollout is exclusively for the unlocked version. An OTA update comes light with 714 MB of space required. It is worth noting that the update could take a few days until it's received by all users in the US, MobiPicker reported.

Android 7.1.2 Nougat Rolls Out to Nexus Player, Pixel C

The latest Android software version is now rolled out to Pixel and Nexus devices. Reports have learned that Pixel C and Nexus Player have received the OTA update a few days ago with a few improvements including new launcher. The maintenance update has also been rolled out to Nexus 5X as the handset is now getting a fingerprint gesture support.

Meanwhile, the Nexus 7 2013 tablet users can update their device to Android Nougat using a custom ROM. NitrogenOS developer has designed the Nougat 7.1.1 update to be compatible with the old Nexus tablet, Gigjets reported

Android Update: The Next Handsets to Receive

Moto X Pure has been reported to undergo soak test as the company prepares Nougat update for the handset. Google will release the 7.1.2 version to Pixel and Pixel XL devices starting April 3. There will be a few improvements to expect, such s VolTe support plus security patches. VolTe will allow a user to receive a phone call via the internet connection and not rely on the device signal.

Other revamps that come along with Android 7.1 Nougat update include swipe across the sensor to view alerts, app shortcuts, and more advanced image keyboard support.
