Essential Smartphone is iPhone, Pixel Serious Rival; Loads of Software Tweaks; Bezel-less Display, Snap 835 - Debuts Soon [VIDEO]

Andy Rubin has mentioned a new Android smartphone will launch soon. Interestingly, Alphabet's Eric Schmidt re-tweeted Rubin statement to confirm a phenomenal Android phone debut without calling out Galaxy S or Pixel.

A few reports indicated that the Essential smartphone developed by one of the Android founder will be rocking all of the phenomenal hardware. A Snapdragon 835 chipset under the hood of a bezel-less display is expected.

It is too early to justify how incredible the Essential smartphone would be but judging from Rubin's profile - he is one of Android founding fathers and he is expected to make a few tweaks on the software for the upcoming flagship.

As a new kind of device, the Essential smartphone is an ambitious project that will take on premium smartphones this year, according to The Verge. In addition to its edgeless display, the smartphone will get a ceramic body and 3D Touch feature. It is unclear whether the appearance will be similar to Pixel or iPhone.

Familiar sources said that the engineers behind Essential smartphone are the former employees of Apple and Alphabet. Bloomberg noted that the design includes magnetic connector that will allow the phone to be compatible with third-party hardware accessories.

The idea to combine AI and software is risky according to the media outlet, but if it works, the Essential device will be a game changer in the mobile industry. Rubin reportedly registered a few items under Essential company, including, tablets, computer operating software and accessories. Based on the leaked specifications, it is clear that Rubin's Essential is aiming at high-end consumers.

Rubin resigned from Google in 2014 and has been focusing on a startup that develops AR, AI robotics projects since then. He believes that artificial intelligence is the next big thing in computing platform.

With the design and build material it is interesting to find out what Essential will look like.
