This iOS App Helps Find And Apply For College Scholarships

By

Aside from entrance examinations and the college application process, finding a scholarship is one of the most daunting tasks every college student faces. However, a new iOS app will make that process of finding the right scholarship program become much easier.

Scholly is an iOS app developed by Christopher Gray to help students cut the grueling process of finding a scholarship which he himself experienced when he was in college. Coming from a single-parent family and with no access to technology, Gray faced impossible odds before he can fulfill his dreams.

He knew that in order to realize his dreams, he had to apply for a scholarship. So began the tedious process of Googling and applying to all the scholarships he can find. His hard work paid off when he received $1.3 million in scholarship from the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He used the money to study finance in Drexel University. However, he did not forget how difficult it was to look for a scholarship. So, he created Scholly to make things easier for students.

Using Scholly is pretty easy - all students have to do is enter all the information the app requires once they have downloaded it on their device. The app uses it to find the best match for them based on the qualifications they have. Some of the information it asks include the degree the student will pursue, their GPA score, the university they want to go to, and whether they qualify for a merit or need scholarship.

It also allows students to create a monetary goal for their scholarship so they can easily track down how much money they have and need more.

After they provided all the needed information, Scholly suggests all the possible scholarships that match them including the end date for application. Tapping a specific scholarship gives students a brief description about it and a link to the application form. In case the student wants to review it later, they can save it on the app's dashboard.
