‘Nioh’: Surpasses 1 Million Sales, Sends Thanks To Fans With Free ‘Golden Nioh Armor’ via DLC

By

'Nioh' fans will be delighted to know that their favorite game has surpassed the 1 million mark in sales for both physical and digital copies of the game, worldwide. In celebration and as a thank you to their supporters, Koie Tecmo and Team Ninja will be giving away the "Golden Nioh Armor" for all players via patch version 1.04.

Launched worldwide earlier this month in 15 languages, "Nioh" achieved its one million physical and digital sales in just two weeks after its official release. "Nioh" began its development in 2004; the game was officially announced in 2005, according to Gematsu.

The company also announced that the early-purchase campaign has been extended until March 1. Players who purchase the game before the date mentioned will get the "Crimson Master Armor," which according to IGN, is inspired by the legendary samurai warrior Yukimura Sanada.

In the coming months, "Nioh" will be getting free major updates, Koei Tecmo announced. Additionally, the company also revealed that there would be 10 types of high difficulty missions. In March some missions will feel like they are boss rushes, and in April, a PvP feature will be added to the game.

Moreover, they are not done yet. Alongside PvP in April, "Nioh" announced that its first DLC, "Dragon of Tokohu," would feature a total package that includes new scenarios, weapons, characters, guardian spirits, stages and more.

Two more DLCs are coming, "Japan's Best Warrior" and "Peaceful and Tranquil," though no date of released was announced. "Nioh's" immense combat system does borrow a lot from other games, but its narrative and depth compels players to keep coming back for more.

"Nioh's success is proof the company has taken the right approach by listening to the needs of its players. "Nioh" is now available for PS4 in physical copies and digital download.
