‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’: [Announcement] Season Pass And Possible 2D Version For Nintendo Switch [Video]

By

Dispelling all rumors that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is not coming with the release of the Nintendo Switch on March 3, the company is coming up with downloadable content for the sure-hit game.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" probably the largest and highly engaging games Nintendo ever created is getting two downloadable contents later in the year, through a $20 Season Pass option. Both contents, the company announced, will be available for both the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U releases of the game.

However, Nintendo also announced that both downloadable contents could not be purchased separately. Upon purchase of the Season Pass, users can get access to the two downloadable content sets for the game. Accordingly, upon pre-purchase or purchase, three treasure chests can be found in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" Great Plateau area, Polygon reported.

One chest contains a shirt with the Nintendo Switch logo on it that Link can use within the confines of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild" Season Pass. The other two chests will contain the downloadable content for the game, to be delivered in due time.

The first will be available in summer and will include a Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode and an unnamed feature added to the in-game map of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild". The second content will be delivered during the Holidays in 2017, which will include new challenges, a new dungeon and a new game narrative for the Nintendo Switch version, according to Forbes.

Meanwhile, fans of Nintendo now know that the Nintendo Switch is a hybrid system. There is a team in Nintendo who is taking care of the 2D version of "The Legend of Zelda" for handhelds. Series producer Eiji Aonuma informs that the 3DS and Wii U teams have distinct approaches to game development, but instead of combining both teams, Mr. Aonuma would much prefer having both teams contribute something for the Nintendo Switch from their team's separate perspectives.

Asked if there is a possibility of "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Two Worlds" version for the Nintendo Switch, Mr. Aonuma replied saying there is a definite possibility. The video below features the Zelda producer talking about "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" downloadable content and Season Pass.
