'American Idol' NBC Reboot In Talks; Here's Who Fans Want To Fill In the 'Three Empty Judges' Chairs'

It can't be denied "American Idol" was one reality show that most people were truly looking forward to every year. However, the show ended its reign on television when it finally concluded after 15 seasons; but now, NBC and Fremantle Media are reportedly talking about its reboot.

"American Idol" Season 15, otherwise known as "American Idol: The Farewell Season," ended on a high note with Trent Harmon announced as the winner and La'Porsha Renae as the first runner-up. Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. also brought the house down with their last performances on stage as both special guest stars and judges. Indeed, it was an emotional night for everyone back then - especially for Ryan Seacrest, who stood by everyone's side since day 1 of AI. Then again, it can be recalled that he slyly mentioned "for now" after delivering his legendary sign-off line.

So, what does that mean? Well, brace yourselves: reports state that NBC and Fremantle Media are talking about having the beloved reality show rebooted. According to Entertainment Weekly, Fremantle is planning to reboot one of their shows on NBC. This seems unlikely, though, as NBC has "America's Got Talent" and "The Voice" on its roster this year. Aside from that, AI was canceled due to a number of reasons that ultimately boils down to it being plain expensive - from those auditions being done all over the United States to having highly paid celebrities as judges.

Meanwhile, the news for an AI reboot has already built up the hype of seeing a new batch of celebrity judges to search for the next AI winner. According to Goldderby, an online poll was done (ongoing poll) to see who fans want to fill in the "three empty judges' chairs." Guess who are at the top spot? As of this moment, Selena Gomez has 20% of the overall votes, while Justin Bieber and AI Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson tied at 17%.

How about you? Who do you want to fill in the "three empty judges' chairs?"
