According to reports, there are fans who are still hoping that a renewal announcement will come around sooner than expected. With the end of The CW's longtime running supernatural drama, "The Vampire Diaries", tuning in with the series' spinoff will be an obvious choice for the fans who are into another vampire saga. However, until now, "The Originals" season 5 is still under discussion and its bosses are still in the midst of considering whether or not to order new episodes.

'The Originals' Season 5 Renewal Fate

"The Originals" season 5 was not among the shows The CW decided to order. In Entertainment Weekly report, Mark Pedowitz, The CW's president, reveals his say about the renewal.

Based on his interview, "The Originals" season 5 installment is still up for discussion. Adding on, he also reveals that he and TVD's showrunner Julie Plec already discussed this matter before.

Moreover, Pedowitz admitted that he is a fanatic of Plec. This alone makes him hope that they will continue the series. However, he still noted that "The Originals" season 5 renewal "will depend on performance".

"It'll probably be a discussion in May," The CW president said.

'The Originals' Season 4 Details

Though "The Originals" season 5 is still under wraps, when it comes to its fourth installment, the team has been giving bits of information for the fans. The future setup and the show's upcoming episode title has been released.

As of writing, what is known so far is that "The Originals" season 4 will have a 5-year time jump. The show will pick up two years ahead of TVD's setting. One cast member, Alaric (Matt Davis), from the latter show, will also appear in the series' eight episode.

Meanwhile, for "The Originals" season 4 episode titles, Episode 1 is entitled "Gather Up The Killers" while episode 2 is entitled "Klaus muere", and episode 3 is entitled "Elijah Revenge", epguides.com reports.
