‘Pokémon Stars’ Another Switch Game To Debut In 2018; Visuals Rewrite For Switch May Cause Delay [REPORT]

By

"Pokémon Stars" may be released for Nintendo Switch in 2018. The new console's capabilities require some visuals rewrite by Pokémon designers that may have caused its release date to be pushed further to next year.

Last month, there have been various reports indicating a new sequel for the "Pokémon Sun and Moon." The "Pokémon Stars" have been referenced in the game's cut scenes that were discovered by a Redditor.

A Redditor who goes by the name ronnknee has demonstrated how to activate the cut scenes. It begins with an old man in the Hainan Desert. Players need to show the old man a Lunatone or Solrock, which are not native Pokémons to the Alola region.

These Pokémons can be brought to the Desert by using the Pokémon Bank. Once the man sees the stone, it will him refresh his memory. He will talk about "star pulses" entrusted to him a few decades ago. After that scene, the old man teleports back to space.

These cut scenes further fueled rumors that a new sequel to the Pokémon series may be in the works. Other reports say that the latest Pokémon title will also feature the same map, art from 3DS games and regions with improved visuals. A high definition Pikipek was already seen during the "Pokémon Sun and Moon" a year ago.

Moreover, a GameSpot posting for the Nintendo Switch, now taken down, have mentioned playing "Pokémon" at home. Though there was no reference to the "Stars," observers say that Nintendo will have to bring the latest and popular titles to the console.

A new mainline Pokémon game will make up a strong addition amidst rumors that the Switch games lineup is weak. "Pokémon Stars" may have been purposely omitted during the Nintendo Switch Event last Jan. 3, but it may be revealed via a dedicated Nintendo direct presentation, US Gamer reported.

It is more likely that the new version of "Pokémon Sun and Moon" will come to the Nintendo Switch on 2018. The game needs to undergo visuals rewrite first to make it compatible with the new console according to Mic.
