‘Pokémon Sun’ And ‘Moon’ New Features Released: Rent Teams, Create Custom Competitions; Mega Stones’ Location Guide

By

"Pokémon Sun" and "Moon" continue to receive updates to improve players' gaming experience. Just recently, two new features were added to the game that will surely make online play better.

The features only work by accessing Pokémon's Global Link webpage, WWG reported. Players now have the freedom to make their own online friendly Competitions with a customized set of rules.

These one-day Competitions need 20 or more players, and they have the ability to pick random competitions via the Pokémon Global Link website or scan a QR code to enter the "Pokémon Sun" and "Moon" games. The feature also allows limited competition with the local "Live Competitions" option.

The other feature, meanwhile, allows players to create a QR code on the Pokémon Global Link webpage. With the code, players can temporarily "rent" their teams and use them in the Battle Tree, or in online play versus friends. The QR Rental Team usage and leaderboards are being tracked in the game and are available for viewing on The Pokémon Company's global link website.

One of the biggest features of "Pokémon Sun" and "Moon" is the Mega Stones, which Mega Evolves pocket monsters even though they aren't transferred from Pokémon Bank. There are several tips on where and how to find Mega Stones.

For instance, Mega Venusaur's Mega Stone, the Venusaurite, can be acquired by defeating Red in the Battle Tree. The same trick works on Mega Charizard X's Charizardite X Mega Stone, Mega Charizard Y's Charizardite Y and Mega Blastoise's Blastoisinite, Eurogamer listed.

Alakazite, Mega Alakazam's Mega Stone, can be found by defeating Dexio on Ancient Poni Path, or via purchasing it with 64 BP at Battle Tree. The Mega Stones Slowbronite, Gengarite, Kangaskhanite, Gyaradosite, Aerodactylite, Pinsirite, Sablenite, Sharpedonite, Metagrossite and Garchompite, among others, can also be acquired by purchasing them with 64 BP at Battle Tree.

Red Orb (Primal Kyogre's Mega Stone) and Blue Orb (Primal Groudon's Mega Stone) can both be purchased in Hau'oli City. Mega Rayquaza's Dragon Ascent Mega Stone (doubles as a move) comes from Move Tutor in Seafolk Village.

Of course, the Mega Stones are useless without Mega Ring and its Key Stone. After defeating the Elite Four, a trainer must face off with Dexio next on Ancient Poni Path. If you emerge victorious, Dexio will reward you with both the Key Stone and Alakazite, and you can Mega Evolve any Pokémon anytime you wish.
