‘Black Panther’ Juggles Royal Duties With Saving The World [Video]

"Black Panther" belongs to the elite group of superheroes who are born royal. T'challa, Prince of Wakanda was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) last year in "Captain America: Civil War."

"Black Panther" movie plot

Following the events of "Civil War," T'Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman, grapples with his new responsibilities to his people and homeland, facing a personal conflict with an old nemesis. He returns to his isolated but technologically advanced African nation to assume the role of King, according to Wired.

Upon his return, an old nemesis resurfaces, and T'Challa now serving as King and donning the mantle of Black Panther is drawn into a conflict that puts Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Classic "Black Panther" foe, Ulysses Klaue, played by Andy Serkis serves as a nemesis to reprise his role introduced in "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

"Black Panther" confirmed cast of characters

"Black Panther" according to IGN, features a massive cast said to be the biggest and most impressive ensemble in a superhero movie. Below is a list of the other cast members who are confirmed to be featured in the movie and the respective roles they are to play, some reprises their roles from "Captain America: Civil War."

  •  Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years a Slave), will play Nakia. A member of the elite all-women bodyguard called the Dora Milaje, and the love interest of T'Challa.
  •  Danai Gurira (Walking Dead) will play Okoye. The battle-hardened leader of the Dora Milaje.
  •  Florence Kasumba reprises her role as Ayo, a Doja Milaje agent who nearly came to blows with the Black Widow.
  •  Michael B. Jordan (Creed) plays Erik Killmonger, Wakandan exile, and nemesis of T'Challa.
  •  Angela Bassett will play Queen Ramonda, Mother of T'Challa. Interestingly, Ramonda is his stepmother in the comics.
  •  Forest Whitaker plays Zuri, a Wakandan statesman.
  •  Daniel Kaluuya (Skins) plays W'Kabi, T'Challa's closest friends and confidants.
  •  Winston Burke (Person of Interest) plays Man-Ape M'Baku, leader of the White Gorilla Cult who aims to bring the royal family down.
  •  Martin Freeman reprises his role as Agent Everett K. Ross
  •  John Kani also reprises his role as King T'Chaka
  •  Sterling K. Brown (The People vs. OJ Simpson) plays N'Jobu who has ties to T'Challa's past.
  •  Letitia Wright (Glasgow Girls) is cast in an unknown role.

"Black Panther" is directed by Ryan Cogler (Creed) will film the movie in Atlanta and South Korea. The movie is set to hit theater on Feb. 16, 2018.
