‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 5 Potential Release Date: Taryn Manning Calls Out ‘Silly’ Magazines

By

Netflix has not revealed much about the fifth season of "Orange is the New Black." Rumors, on the other hand, are not stopping. One of the rumors that have surfaced recently claimed that Taryn Manning, who portrays Pennsatucky a.k.a. Tiffany Doggett, will exit the series soon. This, as expected, worried some fans but the actress quickly went to social media and shut down the speculations about her character.

In an Instagram post a week ago, Manning clarified that she's not leaving "Orange is the New Black." She said that she loves her squad and called the magazines spreading the fake claims "silly."

#quit #never ILove my squad! Silly magazines but still love ya! Xoxo

Rumors about Manning's exit from "Orange is the New Black" first came from InTouch. The report was already taken down, but it claimed that Manning wanted to separate herself from the Pennsatucky character and she was planning to leave New York (where the show is being filmed) for Los Angeles and live a "cleaner, happier life" there, TV Guide reported.

The InTouch article also claimed that the actress "wants to get rid of the friends who don't support her sobriety." Netflix dispelled the rumors, too, and confirmed that Manning is still on "Orange is the New Black."

Netflix hasn't announced the release date of "Orange is the New Black" yet, but many believe that it will air in the summer. The show's earlier seasons all came out in June, so it makes sense that Season 5 will also grace the streaming service in the same timeframe.

"Orange is the New Black" got renewed early for its sixth and seventh seasons. Season 5 started filming in July 2016 and Lori Petty is hoping that her character, Lolly, will be a major player in the upcoming season once again. Petty told the Hollywood Reporter last year that she's just "waiting on the phone call" to return to the series' upcoming season.

Lolly became a full-time character on "Orange is the New Black" Season 3, but she had a breakdown that put her in the Litchfield psych ward in Season 4. Lolly was rarely seen due to that change of course.

Season 4 of "Orange is the New Black" ended with Daya (Dascha Polanco) pointing a gun at C.O. Humphrey (Michael Torpey) during a prison riot. Jessica Pimentel, who portrays boss inmate Maria, said that her character will make the final call and she will push Daya to pull the trigger so the blame won't fall on her, TV Guide reported.
