Android Nougat Update Rollout to Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4 after Sony Xperia XZ – See Other Devices Here [REPORT]

Two of Sony's prominent smartphones Sony Xperia XZ, Xperia X and Xperia X Compact have reportedly kicked off the seeding for Android Nougat operating system. Rumors suggest that Sony will follow through the update for Xperia X5, Xperia Z4 and other handsets. See the full list of eligible devices here!

 Android Nougat for Sony Xperia XZ, Xperia X, Xperia X Compact

Users of Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X and Xperia X Compact will now have the chance to experience the Android Nougat running on their respective Sony handset as the Japanese company has started rolling out the latest Android mobile operating system to its two prominent models. According to Indian Express, Sony has made the announcement through their Twitter account and advised the users to watch for the notifications as the update has started rolling out in a phase manner.

Android Nougat update for Xperia XZ and Xperia X handsets is estimated to weigh for about 1GB to which, according to XDA Developers, has started rolling out to countries like The Netherlands, Turkey, Russia and Australia. The Nougat update has reportedly brought new feature like Stamina mode and few enhancements to the camera app.

It can be recalled that Sony has rolled Android Nougat update to selected Xperia X models last week. According to Xperia Blog, Xperia X Compact (F5521), Xperia X Dual (F5122) and Xperia X (5121) are among the selected models to receive the initial rollout with build number 34.2.A.0.266 as shared by the users.

Android Nougat for Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4

For the older handsets such as Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z4 tablet and Xperia Z3+, Android Nougat is expected to kick off on the first or second quarter of 2017. However for those older handsets powered by Snapdragon 800 or 801 chipsets such as Z Ultra, Z1 Compact, Z1, Z2, Z3 Compact and Xperia Compact will not be upgraded to Android Nougat.
