Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran Advice on Embracing Failure

By

In every career, failures are investable. In the words of Einstein, "If you've never failed, you've never tried anything new." While failures can be things that are beyond your control, you can control how you handle and react to them. Instead of blaming yourself or putting the blame at someone else, you can learn from your mistakes and move forward.

To be able to recover and progress from failure, learn from the following philosophies shared by Barbara Corcoran, Shark Tanks' TV personality.

Facing fear and overcoming it

For Barbara, there's no other way to be able to overcome fear that to embrace and face it head on. Nothing will happen if you always try to avoid or hide from something that scares you.

Develop a positive attitude

In every aspect of your life, an optimistic attitude can go a long way. Whether it be for your career or your dreams, you always have to stay hopeful and believe that you can achieve your goals. It also boils down to your own perspective about life in general. Choosing to look at the brighter side of things even when something goes wrong can make a difference.

Don't overthink and overanalyze

You don't always have to wait for the right time to make things happen. You have to be the one to decide when you want to make them happen. If failure is what's holding you back, you will never know if you never risk.

Fake it until you make it

If you want to be someone, you have to embrace that feeling. Be that person. Look and act the person you want to be. Also surround yourself with the people you admire because someday, you will also be like them. If you feel intimidated, take it as a challenge to be better until the time comes when you feel like you belong.
