Elon Musk Named The Most Admired Tech Leader, Beats Steve Jobs And Mark Zuckerberg

By

In a survey conducted by First Round Capital to find out the world's most admired tech leader, Tesla Motors' Elon Musk placed first with 23 percent. Amazon's Jeff Bezos placed second with 10 percent, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg placed third with 6 percent while Apple's Steve Jobs is fourth with 5 percent.

Elon Musk, according to Mobi Picker, is also the founder of X.com, SpaceX, SolarCity, OpenAI and Zip2. No reason had to be given for each correspondent's choice but it has to be his visionary ideas and the ability to inspire millions of people all over the world. Among the many projects Musk is involved with, the two major ones that promise to have a major effect on the future are the eco-friendly Tesla cars and Space X's ambitious Mars colony plan.

According to Sci-Tech Today, the survey came out just a few weeks after Tesla reported a stellar quarter for just the second time in its existence as a public company. The pre-orders for the luxury vehicles of Tesla, The Roadster, The Model S and The Model X, were just 198,000 which prompted Elon Musk to suggest his company will have to change plans on building cars.

Elon Musk showed the world he has big ambitions as he has stated he wants to begin colonizing Mars by 2024. He also hopes to send the first unmanned crew to Mars by 2018 even though one of SpaceX's rockets exploded because of an unknown reason.

SpaceX recently announced it plans to launch on Dec. 16 the first rocket since one of its rockets exploded. They are now concentrated on striking a deal with NASA in order to launch satellites that will result in climate change. It is easier said than done for Elon Musk though because incoming President Donald Trump wants to defund any climate change efforts.
