Next Mad Max Film ‘Mad Max: The Wasteland’ Not Happening Soon; Miller to Make Furiosa Prequel First?

By

The high-octane movie, "Mad Max: fury Road," which made 2015 the best year for films so far will not be returning in the big screen soon. Reports have it that director George Miller will set film production very much later because he wants to clear the exhaust first and prefers to create something more contemporary.

A Furiosa movie is also on the horizon. Is this the contemporary movie that Miller has in mind before he takes audiences back to the wasteland again?

George Miller isn't rushing back to create the post-apocalyptic sequel on the wasteland yet, Cinema Blend reported. According to Miller, he wants to do something smaller first; something that can be finished right away and something more contemporary. The director's desire is understandable considering that "Mad Max: Fury Road" took almost a decade to shoot with a lot of hurdles on the road that nearly killed off the entire project.

According to the same report, Miller said he prefers his next project to be performance-based, not technically difficult like "Mad Max: Fury Road". If this is the case, then it certainly rules out speculations that Miller's making the Furiosa prequel that the fans worldwide are craving for.

If Miller's finally on it, what should fans expect in the sequel? There are actually plenty of questions that can be answered in the sequel. Tom Hardy is contracted for at least two more Mad Max movies, Den of Geek reported.

Hardy's character will be presented in an anthology style. Max left the citadel so a story about his exploits will be covered. The comic issues that focused on Max and which credited Miller, were widely accepted by fans so a story parallel to Furiosa can be expected. But basically, the story can go anywhere than in citadel.

If the sequel is a prequel to re-introduce Furiosa, then answers like how Furiosa lost ehr arm will be answered.
