'Supergirl' News: The Next Major Enemy of Kara Zor El Revealed; Superman To Be In The Show Again? [VIDEO]

By

Following the revelation of the new synopsis released by the CW for "The Darkest Place," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that Cyborg Superman, who was one of several Supermen took Kal-El's place after his death at the hands of Doomsday in the comics, will actually be appearing on "Supergirl."

It will, however, not be portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin, who has played non-cyborg Superman on the show.

Kreisberg said that Superman is welcome to make a comeback; however, the production is trying to find out how the story will flow for the rest of the season. One thing is sure though, The Man of Steel will be back in the show, Yahoo reported.

The synopsis revealed that while Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) tries to clear his name after being accused of a murder committed by another vigilante, Supergirl heads out on a solo mission to rescue Mon-El (Chris Wood) who has been captured by Cadmus, and while fighting, Supergirl comes face to face with Cyborg Superman.

Project Cadmus has been a steadily-growing presence on "Supergirl," with several plotlines involving its mission to combat aliens by creating its own super-powered humans, often by any means necessary. Furthermore, in an episode titled "Crossfire," a big twist revealed that the evil Cadmus scientist, who recently instilled fear by arming criminals with alien technology, was none other than Lena Luthor's mother, Screenrant reported.

How Mama Luthor will factor into the existence of Cyborg Superman is still unknown.

Given that Hank Henshaw was the original alternate identity of Cyborg Superman in the comics, could it be David Harewood, who plays Hank Henshaw to hide his identity as Martian Manhunter? Or will be played by another actor entirely? We'll soon find out. Meanwhile, you can explore the internet for fan theories about the superpowered villain's true identity.

"Supergirl" continues on Monday, November 4 at 8pm on The CW with its new episode "Changing."
