The "Fifty Shades Freed" Actor Jamie Dornan plays Christian Grey in all three franchises of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy, allaying rumors that "Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder is taking over. Dornan has completed filming the two sequels, "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" last summer with the third movie set to be released by February 2018.

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" series has catapulted Dornan into a bankable star and made him a household name. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Dornan is reluctant to accept his hearthrob status, but there is no denying that he is already one.

However, his fame also brings with it controversies with the more recent one involving "Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder.  Somerhalder was reported to take over the role of Christian Grey.

There is no truth to this rumor because Dornan has recently completed filming the second and the third series of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy over the summer. The "Fifty Shades Darker" will have a release date on Feb. 10, 2017 and "Fifty Shades Freed" on February 2018.

Somerhalder may have gotten mixed up in the rumor after speculations that the actor will be tailing ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev, who is pursuing a career in the big screen, as speculated by Gossip Cop. Dobrev will be featured alongside "Fast and Furious 8" star Vin Diesel in the upcoming film, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage."

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" stars have been beset by various rumors mainly about Dornan and co-star Dakota Johnson, who plays the shy and innocent Anastasia Steele, Grey's love interest. Dornan and Johnson are rumored to bring their onscreen romance to real life, but the claims remain baseless and unfounded.

In "Fifty Shades Freed" Dornan and Johnson will play as lovers for the last time. Both actors have successfully played their role in the movie adaptation of the best-selling book by E.L. James.

After completing all three movies, Dornan has expressed that he is interested in playing other roles, fearing that he will be associated with just one role in his movie career. He has movies in pre-production like the "Anthropoid" and "The 9^th Life of Louis Drax." Meanwhile, Johnson is set to appear in the movies "Suspiria" and "Under the Silver Lake."
