Looks like a perfect alternative to Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is finally here in the form of the Galaxy TabPro S Gold Edition, Samsung Electronics America announced the device on Oct. 14.

Aside from its Gold body, the device features an array of awe-inspiring advantages including a full-sized detachable keyboard, along with an integrated touchpad, making the Galaxy TabPro S an ideal device for heavy-duty work.

The Galaxy TabPro S sports a very slim (6.5 mm) and light design weighing just 693 grams. It features a 12-inch Super AMOLED display that supports a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Under the hood, the device packs an Intel Core M3 6Y30 processor which is clocked at 2.20GHz, and backed by an Intel HD Graphics unit and 8GB of RAM. There is SSD storage on board, and the device runs on a robust 5200mAh battery, Phone Arena reported.

The battery is not removable and its lasts up to an impressive ten hours when watching videos.

As far as internal storage is concerned, the device comes with a mammoth capacity of 256GB. In addition, the tablet sports 5MP primary and 5MP secondary cameras without LED flash and it's equipped with three sensors including Accelerometer, Proximity and Ambient light sensor.

Consumers should bear in mind that the TabPro Pen is not included in the package. In other words, users will need to shell out an additional $50 for it.

Furthermore, the detachable keyboard has an integrated touchpad and it connects to tablet with the help of a Pogo pin connector which eradicates the need for charging or pairing separately, according to Samsung Newsroom.

The Galaxy TabPro S Gold Edition is up for grabs for $1000, which is about $100 more than the price of Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and an Intel Core m3 processor.

Meanwhile, Microsoft's 2-in-1 tablet sports a display with a diagonal of 12.3-inch, however, it supports a higher resolution i.e. 2736×1824 pixels. Furthermore, the device's camera is Windows Hello-compatible, which enables it to authenticate the user without needing to enter a password.
