Conan O’ Brien Parody Reveals Practical Reason Why Apple Should Regret Replacing Headphone Jack with Wireless AirPod Earbuds

By

Apple's AirPod Earbuds was launched during the Apple event last September 7. The replacement of headphone jack has an obvious awkward introduction all the more when the late night talker Conan O' Brien revealed one of the disadvantages of the earbuds through a parody of dancing silhouette.

Wireless, expensive and lost are the words appeared at the end of an Apple AirPod spoof during the late night talk with Conan O' Brien. The parody suggested one particular and practical reason as to why Apple AirPod is no-match with the old 3.5 mm headphone jack. As the new earbuds sporting a wireless technology, the spoof predicted how it works for someone who is dancing. Aside from being expensive, AirPod belongs to stuff that are most prone to losing while in user is in motion. And the possible worst case scenario, AirPod goes the drain literally.

The Time publication has also provided an objective review of Apple's genuine product. There are advantages most especially when it comes to connectivity and convenience but definitely do not outweighs over the following disadvantages.

  • The discrete appearance of an elongated portion of the AirPod will make someone uncomfortable. Weird however acceptable due to the fact that the earbuds are wireless and battery, microphone and antenna are located in the elongated portion.
  • The price is too expensive. The amount $159 did not reach the music quality everyone is expecting and Apple seems not to care.
  • Extra cost for headphone jack adapter for those who wanted to use the traditional audio jacks while listening to music with their iPhone 7. However, Apple AirPod is compatible with selected Apple products and devices such as Apple Watch Series 1, iPad Mini2 and iPhone 5 models and beyond.

Investing into wireless AirPod is a clear manifestation of Apple's plan for wireless technology which appears to be the Big Focus during the Apple Event held last September 7. And most probably, that will not be the last time for the Cupertino-based company to talk about going wireless.
