The UCLA Bruins and Mississippi State (MSU) Bulldogs both won Friday and are set to face off in the 2013 College World Series final, a best-of-three series starting Monday night.

UCLA beat the top-seeded University of North Carolina (UNC) Tar Heels 4-1 on Friday, escaping multiple late-game jams. UNC loaded the bases twice in the ninth inning, but only came away with one run.

"I'm proud of our team, but we still haven't accomplished what we came to do," UCLA coach John Savage said after the game. "On to the next round."

The Tar Heels were favorites for the tournament and have a history of success in the CWS.

"The end of the year, it always stinks," UNC coach Mike Fox said after the game. "What we did in the ninth inning is just indicative of our kids and how we played all year. Just fighting until the very end."

MSU beat the Oregon State Beavers Saturday 4-1 to reserve their spot in the finals. Kendall Graveman pitched another great game and remained unbeaten in the tournament. Hunter Renfroe provided most of the offense with a three-run home run; one he did not think was leaving the field.

"I was running hard out of the batter's box and going for a double," he said. "I kind of hit it off the end of the bat, but I was able to get enough backspin on it."

UCLA was ranked No. 15 in the nation and knocked off the top seed; meanwhile, 10th-ranked MSU upset 5th-ranked Oregon State.

"I know it sounds crazy, but our kids just think something good is going to happen and, by the way, our coaches do, too," Bulldogs coach John Cohen said after the game. "I think these guys are on a little bit of a roll for sure."

While two teams get to play for the title, the end of the season is disappointing for the rest. The Beavers once won back-to-back CWS titles in 2006 and 2007, but like most other teams, they are already thinking about next season.

"It's very difficult when eight teams show up at Omaha, and seven of them lose their last game and feel like they had a poor season," Beavers coach Pat Casey said after the game. "We're not hanging our head at all. Our guys are obviously disappointed, and I think they're more disappointed in the fact that they won't get a chance to play together as a team again."
