Looks like the story plots for the upcoming fighting role-playing video game "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" and the current anime series "Dragon Ball Super" may be linked.

A slew of speculations and numerous theories from gaming fans hint the current story arc in "Dragon Ball Super" anime, the "Future Trunks" saga is linked with the story line of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" game.

Fans are currently banking on possibilities that the two stories are actually connected, and this may somehow be connected with the anime's latest development, Forbes reported.

Those who have not seen the latest "Dragon Ball Super" yet, brace yourself, there are some major spoilers ahead.

One of the most important scenes in the anime series is when Future Trunks makes a journey to the past in order to put Goku on guard against the incoming danger in the form of Goku Black. Avid fans believe Trunks in the anime is the same Trunks in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse," who is part and parcel of the new Time Patrol.

But that's not all; another connection is some sort of details on Goku Black's time ring. Apparently, the ring features an insignia that resemble the insignias on the heads of evil Broly as well as evil Janemba, Mobile&Apps reported.
