'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' Release Date Finally Confirmed; New Trailer Showing Off Combat Gameplay, Game's Story Mode Surfaces Alongside [VIDEO]

Looks like a good news for "Dragon Ball" fans as Bandai Namco recently announced that it will take the wraps off the much-awaited online multiplayer title, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" this fall and it will be coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4.

The publisher also divulged that the imminent title's special attraction will be Grammy-nominated DJ Steve Aoki, who would not only feature as a musical contributor but also as a non-playable character.

Aoki is slated to remix a few classic Dragon Ball Z songs including the original and second themes - "Cha-La Head-Cha-La" and "We Gotta Power."

But that's not all; players could bump into Aoki as an interactive character in Conton, the game's hub city, GameSpot reported.

Aoki said he grabbed the opportunity to contribute his talents and to leave a personal impact on the series with both hands.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 - Trailer

A brand-new trailer surfaced online along with the announcement. The trailer divulges a slew of Dragon Ball Z's villains as they come eye-to-eye with the player in the Time Patrol's attempt to set time back on track.

The trailer also gives a sneak peek at an all-new Super Saiyan 3 form for the player character; this was previously banned in Xenoverse, GameRant reported.

The studio has remained mum and has not divulged details regarding the story around which the game revolves.

That said, if the previous "Fly Through Time" trailer, and the recently-released footage are anything to go by, it looks like players will be taking their unique fighter back through time, crossing the path with Bardock, Goku's father and catching up with Future Gohan from the dark future that Trunk first transited back from in the "Android Saga."

The game will reportedly feature a slew of brand-new characters, many of which might be making an appearance for the first time after their debut in the new Dragon Ball Super series.

If rumors proved to be true, this is definitely the right time to be a "Dragon Ball" fan - with the introduction of a brand-new series and new Xenoverse. Rumors are rampant that there may be more to come in the future with a new RPG slated to be announced later this year.

While "Dragon Ball: Project Fusion" has not yet made an appearance in the West, a port is likely seeing as the latest DBZ 3DS game, "Extreme Butoden," was finally launched overseas from its aboriginal Japanese launch.

Before been brought out to PC on October 28, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will first debut for the consoles on October 25.
