One of the most famous movie series of the Home Box Office's (HBO), "Game of Thrones" has just released the final episode for its Season 6, but what should we expect in Season 7?

Fans will have to wait another year for the next season of the movie series "Game of Thrones". However, fans are already getting excited and it is not too early to get excited. There are speculations, rumors and theories. But here's what we know so far.

The next season of the famous movie series will be released in April 2017 this is according to the pattern shown by the first six seasons of the movie series. The cast that will continue to live on is also known.

The important characters known to be in the seventh and eighth season would include Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), and Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Other characters like Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) are also up for Season 7. However, the contracts on the actors and actresses does not mean that their characters would live very long. It only means that "Game of Thrones" has an option to include them, Digital Spy reported.

The last Season had shown a few interesting events. First, Jon Snow was hailed King in the North after Lady Mormont explained his status. Also, Brandon Stark learned through a vision that Jon Snow was not really Ned Stark's Bastard. This may confirm the theory that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Ned Stark's sister, Lyana Stark. This might be a hint of the theory R+L=J.

In the east, Daenerys Targaryen rallied an army and sailed to Westeros. The army includes the Unsullied, the Dothraki, the fleet of the Ironborn led by Jara Greyjoy, the women of Dorne, Olenna Tyrell, and of course, her three mighty dragons.

In Westeros, Cersei Lannister seized the Iron Throne after blowing up the Sept with wildfire. Her son committed suicide after the tragic event in the Sept which leaves Cersei alone to claim the throne.

Overall, the finale episode of the "Game of Thrones" Season 6, called "The Winds of Winter", sets the movie for a more exciting stuff that would follow after the eventful finale episode, Cinemablend reported.
