Chuck Norris has published a 1,500-word essay on WND.com endorsing free agent quarterback Tim Tebow, naming him to the (albeit made-up) Ultimate Clutch Players league.

Norris, who has a website dedicated to his many accomplishments, personally recommended the Jacksonville Jaguars should sign the free agent QB to "help turn the mediocre team into a championship one."

"Tebow works miracles on the field, and his inclusion would embolden the spirit of the Jaguars among the team and fans," Norris wrote.

The essay was published four days ago on WND.com, a website whose contributors include Ann Coulter and Ted Nugent.

The mixed-martial artist said Tebow's 2011 season with the Denver Broncos, a season where he lead his team to the playoffs after a 1-4 start, was "one of the most remarkable in football history."

Norris has been a fan of Tebow's ever since the young lefty was named the starter that University of Florida. Tebow led the Gators to two national championship wins and a Heisman Trophy win for himself in 2007.

Tebow has not responded to Norris' lengthy endorsement or to being released by the New York Jets through any medium.

Norris has joined a small pocket of public figures who have thrown their support behind the much-criticized QB. ESPN's Skip Bayless and TNT's Charles Barkley have both been outspoken about their support for Tebow's ability to win despite an unorthodox technique and un-glamorous statistics.

Norris addressed Tebow's critics, who say he does not have the accuracy to be an NFL QB.

"I've heard the so-called critics say Tebow has poor technical skills, but the truth is that Tim is a natural-born leader, an amazingly gifted football player, an inspiration to his team and the possessor of intense determination and strategy to bring any team to victory - no matter what the odds. One can improve technique, but leadership is innate," Norris Wrote. "That is why I believe Tebow could be a super star and legend in the NFL."

Norris quoted Super Bowl champion, Fox Sports analyst and morning show host Michael Strahan from from his recent appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman."

"You can't measure heart," he said. "And you can't measure how hard a guy's going to work when a guy starts making money."

Norris ended his essay with one simple statement: "Tim Tebow is a winner - plain and simple!"
