The highly-anticipated DLC dubbed, "Rise of Iron" for the fan-favorite first-person shooter game, "Destiny" is slated to make an appearance this September.

Following an array of rumors and speculations centering on the aforementioned DLC, Bungie officially announced to the game's huge fanbase that it will finally be unveiled on September 20, exclusively on PS4 and Xbox One - the current generation consoles.

In order to run, "Rise Of Iron" will require the base game and the preceding DLCs, particularly "The Dark Below," "House of Wolves," and "The Taken King."

According to Bungie CEO, Pete Parson, the new DLC is a perfect addition to the already exciting arsenal of the "Destiny" universe. He noted that the team behind the game continually derive motivation from the energy and enthusiasm that come from the ever expanding Destiny community.

The new DLC is comparatively much bigger than the previous DLCs, bringing brand new areas for the players to delve into. "Destiny: "Rise of Iron" will get things rolling for "Felwinter Peak" and "The Plaguelands." Aside from the aforementioned features, the DLC will also revamps The Wall - the game's original starting area - into an all-new sight for players to revisit, Ecumenical News reported.

"Destiny" Rise Of Iron" DLC also adorns the fan-favorite game with an array of new and enhanced raids, strikes, in addition to adding more patrols and public events. The new DLC for the hit first-person shooter will pack Crucible maps along with other features.

But that's not all, "Destiny" fans have a lot more to be excited about as Activision announced a much-anticipated sequel to the popular game, scheduled to hit the shelves in 2017. Despite the year-long release date window, fans would be thrilled about the confirmation that "Destiny 2" is actually in the works at Ubisoft, PC Advisor reported.

Quite a few tech publications have indicated that "Destiny 2" is most likely to debut in the summer of 2017 - probably sometime in September - citing that the first "Destiny" game was released two years back on September 9. Besides, Bungie would be counting on the pre-Christmas rush to work in its favor.
