Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Price, Specs: Intel Kaby Lake and Optional Screen Variants?

By

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been rumored to release next year but a new information citing credible source stated that the tablet will debut this year. Check out the specs!

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 specs

On the specs, the device will likely to run faster with the Intel Kaby Lake processor. Flaunting Windows 10 Redstone 2, it will sport 4K UHD screen display and Microsoft makes an improvement on the battery life using higher capacity. The impressive display might not be available for all Surface Pro 5 models but only for a few types. Thus, the other variants of Surface Pro 5 could be having 2K resolution screen display, Mobi Picker reported. Other than that, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be equipped with either AMD Polaris GPUs or Nvidia Pascal.

Another rumor points out on the Surface Pen along with USB Type C port, CNET reported. The stylus should be receiving an upgrade especially when noticing previous generations, the Pro 3 has hard plastic tip; and Pro 4 Surface Pen has its latency reduced. The new pen will possibly have better formula or could be more elegant design.

To enhance multitasking, Microsoft is likely to place bigger RAM, 16 GB. If Surface Pro 5 comes with excellent specs such as faster processor and bigger storage, it could be much more expensive than Surface Pro 4 which sports 4 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and Intel Core m3 processor.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Price

The price range could be similar to the previous generation, Surface Pro 4 at $799. Or, it could possibly be as high as $1799, Phone Arena reported.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date

There are many reports around Surface Pro 5 release date. Going back to the previous generations, Surface Pro 4 was launched in October last year. Sketchy information around the Pro 5 said that it will be released on September.
