The modern day space competition is not between two countries. It is between NASA and the SpaceX, and the government agency and the private company appear to compete who can set up human colonies on Mars.

Elon Musk, the founder, CEO, and CTO of SpaceX, plans to ensure people who take a SpaceX trip to the Red Planet will be traveling in style. People will have movies, lecture halls, cabins, and a restaurant while having a trip to Mars.

Musk made it known that if individuals are going to be in tight quarters for a couple of months, the trip should be fun. The SpaceX CEO stated that the plan is to entice an audience beyond stuffy individuals with money to spend, Scribblrs reported.

Musk started the SpaceX aerospace company with an ultimate goal to colonize the planet Mars. Musk is hoping to make humans a multi-planet species before a mass extinction event demolishes the entire race. Although SpaceX has made swift progress since it started, the private company is still behind the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) when it comes to space exploration.

The SpaceX aerospace company was founded in 2002, while the NASA space agency was founded in 1958. The government space agency has had decades longer to study distant planets, other solar systems, space and black holes. NASA has also successfully sent rovers as well as landed spacecraft to Mars. NASA has even discovered Earth-like planets as part of its hunt for alien life beyond Earth.

NASA made it known that its primary goal in the coming decades is to set up human colonies on the Red Planet. The government space agency is working so hard to successfully send people to Mars. Deputy director of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Lt General Larry James, stated that NASA's primary mission is to send humans to orbit Mars, News Nation reported.
