Galaxy S8 will debut soon but based on the spilled information, the device does not get many upgrades especially when compared to the two years old Galaxy S6.

Is Galaxy S8 no better than Galaxy S6?

A few media outlets skipped Galaxy S7 and use Galaxy S6 to compare the changes that will be shipped with their successor. Starting from the display - the Galaxy S8 will reportedly pack 1440 x 2960 pixels resolutions. On paper, the pixel gains and a Super AMOLED display let it has the vibrant colors but apparently the screen is only a slight upgrade from Galaxy S6's 1440 x 2560 resolutions.

From the dimension, Galaxy S8 will have 18.5:9 aspect ratios - a rather strange design. And it is relatively heavier than the Galaxy S6. Galaxy S6, is still an impressive smartphone and it will reportedly receive Android 7.0 Nougat update after the firmware rolled out to the Edge Plus variant. That said, Galaxy S6 will have the same Android OS version as Galaxy S8.

A few things that will make Galaxy S8 stand out from the competition, is the Snapdragon 835 and the whole lot of features arrive with it. The handset will have 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt memory, with a dedicated slot to expand up to 256GB, Express reported.

Samsung is making things right this time with Galaxy S8 getting a memory card slot. It is making the storage expansion an option rather than a restriction. The battery quality in the upcoming handset upgraded is upgraded to 3,000 mAh. Aside from those improvements, Galaxy S8 will likely cost $100 more expensive than Galaxy S6, Forbes reported.

Additionally, Samsung AI assistant Bixby will be making a debut on Galaxy S8. The handset will be available globally starting April 21.
