The United States Navy is calling all gamers to input their knowledge, experience, and opinions to get ready for singularity which they believe will happen in the next few years. Through this collaboration, the US Navy is hoping that they will be able to create a Navy that is ready for a post-Singularity world.

For those who are not aware of the Singularity, it is a state where artificial intelligence has become so highly advanced that those in the previous generation cannot comprehend it. This process toward Singularity started with how fast technological and scientific advancement s are happening. Many experts believe that because it is so fast, it will turn every fiber of the society upside down and there's no turning back. Thus, the US Navy is preparing before that particular day and age will happen.

Dr. Eric Gulovsen, director of disruptive technology at the Office of Naval Research, said that this is a "complex and open-ended problem" so they need all the input they can get from people from all walks of life to help them.

In order to do that, the U.S. Navy has created the Massive Multiplayer Online Wargame Leveraging the Internet or MMOWGLI, where gamers can input their ideas, debate about topics and issues, and collaborate to innovate. Then, those ideas that become popular and gain massive following can be adopted by the NAVY, said Gulovsen.

Garth Jensen, director of innovation at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock, said that they just want to see how the insights and observations of each player will merge with one another. They want to address the question whether that merging of ideas will create a solution or will just reveal the thought processes of man.

The MMOWGLI was created in 2011 to discuss issues, such as how the US Navy can reduce the use of fossil fuels and how to combat piracy in Somalia. At present, the main focus is on Singularity with an almost apocalyptic tone written on its description.
