A man who was giving away neo-Nazi leaflets in a university campus last Thursday was punched in the face by a student.

That man was said to be distributing the material for the American Nazi Party at California Polytechnic, in front of the Robert E. Kennedy Library, Metro reported. The literature advertised "American White Party and "White Power". The group claimed that the presidency of Donald Trump is "going to be a real opportunity for people like white nationalists, acting intelligently, to build upon."

A man punched him outside of the library and then the local police were called. However, his actions were protected under the First Amendment and that is what the university spokesperson Matt Lazier told the police, it was protected by free speech laws, that is why no laws were broken and he was allowed on his way, Mustang News reported.

The young man was first spotted on Wednesday in the same location and returned on Thursday. That was when the UPD received the report that the same man went back to the library area and was hit in the face by an unidentified person. The assailant whose face was covered, had ran away after throwing the punch.

The police officers who responded to the incident talked to the man who was hit but he declined to fiel a police report nor provide his identity. And because of that, there was nothing else for the police to investigate further.

This is not the first time that neo-Nazi punching event happened. A similar incident happened last month when Richard Spencer, a white supremacist who has touched Nazi views, was hit in the face on a Washington D.C. street when he spoke to people. The video clip of the punch has been trending on the internet since then.
