After Queen Beyonce Knowles made it known to the world that she is pregnant with twins, everyone starts to speculate how her pregnancy came about. After posting a photo on Instagram that shows her pregnant belly, many wonder how it is possible for her to get twins at her age.

In Beyonce Knowle's post, she announces that she is not only happy with the double blessing, she is also thankful for those who are wishing her well. However, she did not announce when the twins will arrive or the gender of the babies but it is for sure that Blue Ivy is going to be a big sister.

While a lot of people are very happy for the Carters, many are speculating that the 35 year old underwent in-vitro fertilization for her current pregnancy. In a recent study, in the Journal Fertility and Sterility, 40 percent of all in-vitro births result in multiple pregnancies - twins, triplets, etc. In America, 77 percent of births of triplets or more come from IVF pregnancies, as reported by Self.

Jessica Shepherd, an assistant professor from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, says that it is because Beyonce Knowles is in an advanced maternal age. She means that mothers who are 35 years or older would mean an increased number of twin pregnancies. So it makes sense as to why the Queen Bey is going to have twins.

While the study confirms the star's fertile conception, the artist behind her pregnancy photo makes sure that her portrait is tasteful. Beyonce wears a veil and cradles her stomach in the picture and the man behind that photo is Awol Erizku, a graduate from Yale University with a masters in fine arts, as reported by the BBC.
