"Aquaman" is about to start production and the main cast has gathered together for the superhero film's first table read. Titular star Jason Momoa was joined by the movie's director James Wan, Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson.

Wan tweeted a photo of himself with Momoa, Heard and Wilson at the table read and captioned it with a reference to the 1985 coming-of-age film "The Breakfast Club." Check out the snapshot below.

Heard will portray Mera, the Queen of Atlantis and Aquaman's beloved wife. Wilson, meanwhile, will be the DC Extended Universe movie's villain Ocean Master a.k.a. Orm Curry, the titular character's half-brother who's jealous of his powers. Orm sought the aid of technology so he can have special abilities too like his sibling.

"Aquaman" is scheduled to start shooting in spring 2017 in Australia, with an expected release date set on Oct. 5, 2018. Momoa's portrayal was briefly seen in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and prior to his solo outing, will appear in "Justice League" in November this year alongside Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), the Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

In a recent guesting on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Momoa revealed that he kept his Aquaman a role a secret for five years and it was challenging for him to keep that huge information all to himself. The former "Game of Thrones" actor also said the same thing in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

In that interview, Momoa said that he got the role in late 2012 or early 2013. He shared that "knowing what your future is going to be in the next five or six years and having to keep your mouth shut is brutal." Momoa also told THR that he will begin shooting scenes for "Aquaman" in "four or five months."

Will Beall, who's working on the "Aquaman" script, said earlier this month that the movie will be "really fun" and will "blow people's minds" in terms of visuals, story and scope. Beall shared that Wan knows the exact tone that he wants to pursue the film.

Also, starring is Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko. There is also a possibility that Dwayne Johnson will cameo in the movie as the DC Comics supervillain Black Adam, according to THR writer Borys Kit.
