After the "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Special Edition lost the Skyrim Script Extender last year, it may soon find its way back to the video game. Skyrim enthusiasts are excited for the return of the SKSE because of the vital functions it provides to the gamers.

In October 2016, most mods for the Skyrim Special Edition were not anymore compatible with the open world action role-playing game. This was mainly blamed for the disappearance of the Skyrim Script Extender which helped the video game handle commands and run mods, PC GamesN reported.

The team behind "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Special Edition stated that as the Skyrim Special Edition has been released, the original SKSE will not work with it. A number of gamers were disappointed with the update and the effect of this to the game's mods, according to PC Gamer.

Nonetheless, there is some good news for the "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" Special Edition players, as the Skyrim team plans to revive the Skyrim Script Extender with an update this coming March. During that time, game developers claimed the update will have a beta version of the Script Extender along with a complete version coming after a few weeks.

The Skyrim team stated that they are creating SKSE64 for the new 64-bit Special Edition. The Skyrim team appreciated the patience of their fans while the work continues. Also, the team estimated a mid-March time frame for a beta release of the SKSE64.

That being the case, when the Script Extender rolls out this March, it will be dubbed as the SKSE64, which is a moniker different from the original edition. Those players who have not yet updated their Skyrim Special Edition, these players can still utilize the old Skyrim Script Extender.

The upcoming Script Extender of the Skyrim Special Edition will make the gameplay more exciting and fun again for the players.
