Sony has always been consistent when it comes to their phone designs. If there are changes done, however, they are subtle, and even at a distance, one can tell it is a Sony phone. A recent leak of what is touted to be the successor to the Sony Xperia XA did not deviate from this design concept.

Photos of the Sony Xperia XA successor based on the earlier leaked renders have surfaced. The phone seems to have a USB-C connector, a 3.5mm audio jack, according to Phone Arena. There are at least three color combinations. A slit at the bottom of the screen indicates the phone could have stereo speakers.

Sony highlighted different products during the recently concluded CES 2017, but no phones. However, with the MWC 2017 scheduled for next month, Sony is in the process of highlighting their different smartphones at the event. It is expected Sony will unveil the Sony G6221 and the G3112.

The event might also be the platform for the mid-range successor to the Sony Xperia XA to be finally unveiled as either the Xperia XA 2 or Xperia XB, according to GSMArena. Unfortunately, not much is known about the phone's specs aside from the display that indicates it is of the 5-inch variety and a unibody design same as the Sony Xperia XA.

The Sony Xperia XA featured a 2GB RAM so it follows to expect its successor to have a larger RAM. It could also get better optics than while retaining the 13MP-8MP camera pairing of its predecessor. The phone has been leaked on Onleaks as well that tipped the device does not have a fingerprint sensor.

As there is no concrete pronouncement of what specs are actually in the new phone, given that leaked renders and photos of the new handset, it would be safe to assume that users will be able to hear and see all about it during Sony's press event at the MWC 2017 next month.
