It is no secret that going to college is expensive but the application for college can be costly too. From campus visits, to tests and application charges, families are already spending a significant amount of money before their students even start officially on college.

The high cost of getting higher education influences some students to take free college or not go to college at all. The expensive fees of the college application process alone is one of the major reasons why many students back out, according to US News. But instead of putting off college because of the expensive costs of application, here are some tips to help you out.

Spare money on your college visits

To those students who cannot afford to make campus visits, there are few universities who offer different programs that allow understudies to learn more about the school while they stay overnight or just over the weekend. These programs intended for high school seniors are usually offered during the summer or fall and can shoulder partial or full travel costs of the students.

Be mindful of the application deadlines

According to Cappex, there are some colleges that waive application fees for students who are able to apply for early admission. There are also some states that declare College Application Week which allows application fees to be waived for this duration.
