The official premiere date of "The Originals" Season 4 on The CW has been announced. Plot details about the upcoming season were also revealed.

The fourth season of "The Originals" will jump five years into the future when it premieres in March, with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) daughter Hope (Summer Fontana) now a 7-year-old girl wholly aware of her powers. Showrunner Michael Narducci told Yahoo TV that Hope is "smart," "savvy" and understands how powerful her magic is.

The girl is a whole new kind of hybrid. She is part witch, part wolf and part vampire. Hope's identity is interesting, and "The Originals" fans are already wondering about what kind of special abilities she might possess.

Hope is curious about the identity of her father and constantly wonders if they would ever reunite. Klaus got stabbed by Papa Tunde (Owiso Odera) in the Season 3 finale of "The Originals" after he faced a "trial" for all the pain and chaos he caused over the years. He got stuck in an agony-induced coma and was placed in a tomb.

Hayley, meanwhile, tagged Hope along on the road as she searches for a cure for Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) after they got bitten by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). The two were suspended in an alternate, dream-like plane until Hayley completes her quest for a cure, which she does by tracking down the missing werewolf clans.

Fans hoping for a reunion between Klaus and Hope need not fret, though. Narducci said that the two will meet again on "The Originals" Season 4 but that has its own challenges, specifically on Klaus' part.

The years they spent apart will take a toll on Klaus and he will realize the many things he missed out on while his child is growing. He will contemplate whether or not he can be a good father to "this very powerful young witch who needs guidance and who needs a dad."

"The Originals" Season 4 will introduce a new villain into the mix. New Orleans will see a powerful threat that will be challenging to handle even for strong figures like Marcel and Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood), TV Guide reported.

Narducci added that "The Originals" Season 4 is all about "putting family love to the test by introducing something that is scarier and more evil than they are." The menacing entity will be a threat specifically to Hope, and of course her family will do everything they can to shield her from harm.
