The world is still months away from the Samsung Galaxy S8 but speculations and claims are already rampant about the upcoming device's specs and features. Here is the latest batch of those claims.

Samsung would roll out a Galaxy S8 Plus to accompany the Galaxy S8 in April 2017, MySmartPrice reported. The tech giant would go all out for these devices; they are planning to equip the smartphones with 8GB of RAM (created with 10nm fabrication technology) and a newer UFS 2.1 flash storage chip.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chipset will be launched soon and it's possible that the processor would make its way inside the Galaxy S8. However, Samsung could also make a separate model powered by the Exynos 8895 processor.

9to5 Google reported (via a Korean outlet) that the Galaxy S8 would have a 5.1-inch curved AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S8 Plus would near phablet status with a whopping 6-inch display. Both handsets would have curved displays, which can be achieved by Samsung by cutting the top and bottom bezels so the screen will completely wrap the devices' front parts.

It was previously reported that Samsung would equip the Galaxy S8 Plus with a stylus, but those plans were later disregarded so the attention on the Note lineup won't wane until later in 2017. Because of this, many are assuming that a new Note-brandset device won't be released in August.

Another report, this time from BGR (via Dutch site GalaxyClub.nl), claimed that the Galaxy S8 would have a new feature called Beast Mode designed to outpace Apple's iPhone 8. Not much has been revealed about this feature, but it sounds like it's the opposite of the Battery Saving Mode. In Beast Mode, the Galaxy S8's processor could perform at full power and consume extra charge in the process.

Both the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be launched at an event in New York in April 2017. The handsets will be equipped with Samsung's own AI-based smart assistant, GSM Arena reported.

Production cost of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus' materials is projected to increase by 15 to 20 percent than the S7 line. With this, users should expect the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus to be pricier than their predecessors.
