Although Xiaomi has been committed on creating a wide range of affordable smartphones, along with other several gadgets such as smart-air conditioners, bedside lamps, air purifiers, among others, the Chinese tech firm has launched a number of external battery packs, one being the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank. Now, the said smartphone accessory was upgraded into a newer version that supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

Xiaomi has released its latest power bank, the Mi Power Bank 2, which will be equipped with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 and two way fast charging technologies. The device measures 135.5 mm X 67.6 mm, which could indicate that it is slightly thicker than its predecessor by 2.1 mm. It also has a narrower build with its surface bumps that should give users better grip of the accessory.

According to Indian Express, the massive power bank utilizes high-density Li-polymer batteries as per its internal chassis. The single port power output on the Mi Power Bank 2 is 5V/2.4A - 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A, which is powerful than the first gen model's single port output being a 5V/2A alone. At the same time, the dual port rating remains unchanged at 5V/3.6A.

In addition, the Chinese company boasts that the Mi Power Bank 2 can pack a Xiaomi Max device with its 4,850 mAh battery in about 2 and a half hours, First Post reported. The device also supports 18W charging and low-current discharging.

As of today, the recently released Mi Power Bank 2 is available only in white color.

The Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2 has been pegged at CNY 149 (approx Rs 1500) that is close to the first gen model's selling price, which is Rs 1,450 in India.

In the past, Xiaomi Company has diversified into the smart home category, bringing into light products and services such as smart air-conditioners, air purifiers, bedside lamps, webcams, routers, televisions, Android TV boxes, fitness trackers and also a 'Smart Home Kit' to protect properties from thieves.
