Users of Samsung mid-range phones thought that the older models won't be upgraded to Android Nougat anymore but it seems like it won't be the case anymore. Hopes are alive because Samsung Galaxy A-series handsets are reportedly getting the latest Android operating system. Will the original version from 2014 to be included? Check it out here!

Android Nougat Will Roll Out to Galaxy A-Series Handsets

As Samsung is working towards its way to release a final and stable build for Android Nougat update to premium handsets like Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, other mid-range phones such as Galaxy A series are also reportedly getting the update. According to Sam Mobile, Samsung is already preparing for the rollout of Android Nougat to the following handsets: Galaxy A9 Pro, Galaxy A9, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3.

Android Nougat update for the mentioned Galaxy A-series handsets are expected to rollout in the second quarter of 2017. Galaxy A8 and (2016) and Galaxy A9 Pro which both run Android Marshmallow; thus a single upgrade to Nougat is what these units need and are likely to run the latest operating system earlier than their predecessors.

On the other hand, Samsung is reportedly working on the 2017 versions of Galaxy A-series but these handsets are expected to run Android Marshmallow out of the box but will be upgraded to Nougat in the coming months. 2016 iterations of Galaxy A-series handsets are also likely to get the Nougat update but Samsung has not confirmed the said report.

Android Nougat to Samsung Galaxy S6, Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2  

Samsung has reportedly extended the rollout of Android Nougat beta to Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2 in an indefinite timeline according to Neurogadget. Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have already received the fourth beta update and supposed to be the last one before the South Korean tech firm jumped off to Android 7.1 Nougat update.
