The University of Glasgow has officially won the Yuletide season. The institution posted their version of the famous Mannequin Challenge.

Glasgow Live reported that the students and staff of the University of Glasgow posted the video to celebrate Christmas. The video gave a virtual tour of the institution with people in the video on freeze while doing quirky and fun things such as falling in line for Santa, taking a selfie, sliding down the rails and even posing as an elf.

The video is over two minutes long. Viewers are given a preview of the university's main building and Hunterian Museum.

According to a post on The Tab, The University of Glasgow looked for volunteers last month. Students were asked to join the Mannequin Challenge last Nov. 25, between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Mannequin Challenge is one of the latest trends in the Internet today. The New York Times described it as a "viral video genre" where groups of people gather together and freeze in place as one person with the camera walks around them.

Schools in the United States have posted their versions of the viral challenge. Penn State University's football team did it in the locker room as well as TCU Football and even the New York Giants.

Bustle noted that the song for the Mannequin Challenge is a new one by hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd. It is entitled "Black Beatles" and was released on Sep. 22.

The publication added that the challenge began in late October. The first documented video was posted by Twitter user @pvrity___. It showed about five young people as they made several poses and froze in place.

Of course, Rae Sremmurd also did their version of the challenge. They did it during one of their concerts and even had the crowd participate. After the 10th second of the video, the band continued the concert as the crowd jumped to the beat.
