It's one of those days when you don't feel like moving and working and you just want to sit around and watch TV. We're all familiar of that. Especially now that Christmas is just around the corner, it's hard to keep your mind focused when you're thinking of the fun and family time ahead.

The sad part is that your work does not stop even when you don't feel like working but here's how you can get things done even when you don't feel like doing what you're supposed to be doing.

Treat your work as if it's something new

According to research, this strategy of considering your project as if it's a new project can improve your motivation and can help you create new perspectives. You just have to remind yourself of the reason why you have to do it.

Give yourself a reward before you even get started

Break the procrastination loop by giving yourself a treat before you even get started like a slice of pizza or cake.

Just do it

In times like this, all you have to do is ignore your feelings and decide to begin. The true motivation comes from the act of doing it. Once you start, you will feel motivated to do more especially when you're beginning to see your progress.

Force a smile

Even when you don't whole heartedly love what you're doing, try to crack a smile. This is because research suggests that smiling can reduce your stress and anxiety levels.

Break down your tasks into small tasks

If you find a task or a project too overwhelming, you can break it down to small ones so you can make them more achievable and measurable. This way, you will never realize you're actually halfway through the entire project.
