The winter break is not only the time to go home, get together with loved ones and celebrate the holidays. For many, it is a chance to relax their minds from the stresses of college life. And sometimes, the better way is often cuddling up with a good book and a hot coco.

The University of Virginia book lovers were ready to lend their titles to anyone who wants to get a good read during the winter break. These also make great gift ideas, as reported by the University of Virginia.

With the help of Associate Professor Lisa Woolfork, from the English department, Roy Cadoff, the university's general books manager and Molly Schwartzburg, the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library authority, they are able to round up some good titles to recommend for that long winter break.

Here are their recommended titles:

1. "Flash" is a book on photography and is perfect for those interested in the craft. It features the life in Charlottesville from the 1940's to the 70's.

2. "Holsinger's Charlottesville" and "The Corner" are good reads for photograph collections of Virginia.

3. "Nine Island" by Jane Alison is a great read for creative writers.

4. William Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying" and "The Sound and the Fury" are two novels that are highly recommended and are Schwartzburg's favorites.

5. "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara is described to be a loved and hated book.

6. Creative writers can also benefit from Rita Dove's "Collected Poems" and Lisa Russ Spaar's "Monticello in Mind: Fifty Contemporary Poems on Jefferson." Perfect for English Lit majors.

7. Woolfork also recommends "Citizen: An American Lyric" by Claudia Rankine which features photographs, poetry and prose.

8. Margaret Atwood's 1985 dystopian novel, "The Handmaid's Tale" is a recommended book by the UVA students.

Do you have your own good reads for the holidays aside from these English lit titles?
