Samsung Galaxy S8 Rumored Features and Specs

While some of the features and specs of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 through series of online leaks from the credible pool of leaksters, there is one feature of the phone that is still unknown to many. Aside from the 4K screen display resolution, Samsung Galaxy S8 will sport a fingerprint sensor that comes along with a new technology according to Forbes.   

Forbes added that Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature one functionality found in the demise Galaxy Note 7, a fingerprint sensor embedded in the screen. However, instead of putting layers of touch sensors in between protective glass cover and display panel, the sensors are said to be integrated to the display panel directly; thus, resulted to a thinner screen as well as a cut cost for the company's end.

On the other hand, while some reports say that the fingerprint sensor will be embedded in the screen, XDA-Developers reported that Samsung may put the fingerprint scanner on the rear part of Galaxy S8. Furthermore, Samsung is reportedly doing away with the physical Home Button for the upcoming device, thus leading to the speculation that Galaxy S8 will be bezel-less and will sport a curved-edge design.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date

Samsung is reportedly launching the Galaxy S8 during the Mobile World Congress in February 2017. However, several reports claimed that the manufacturing of Synaptic's new optical-based fingerprint sensor will start in the second quarter of 2017, thus, leading to another conclusion that Samsung Galaxy S8 will not be launched during the MWC.
