A reported development status of "The Winds of Winter" has lead to a conclusion that the sixth book of "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel will be released in spring 2017 alongside the prequel of "Game of Thrones." Read more details here!

George RR Martin is reportedly taking his time for the sixth book of the novel "A Song of Ice and Fire." "The Winds of Winter" has been long anticipated by the fans of "Game of Thrones" and the lingering question surrounds on the release date of the book.

 "The Winds of Winter" release date is expected to fall on the spring of 2017 together with the seventh book of ASOIF "The Dream of Spring". Furthermore, the book is also believed to hit the store shelves before the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premieres.

 However, with the current news on "Game of Thrones" prequel, the fans feared another delay of its release date, according to Mobile 'N Apps. Thus, further leads to the conclusion that "The Winds of Winter" will be released together with the said prequel.

Now that the book is heading towards its imminent release date, rumor mills have started to grind and overwhelmed the internet with speculations, and one of the popular predictions is that there would be less number of deaths in "The Winds of Winter," according to iDigital Times.   

Furthermore, wild speculation suggests the absence of the Night King in the sixth book of ASOIF. The Night King is dubbed as the leader of the White Walkers bringing destruction and death to Westeros through its armies of ice.

However, in another report, the Wall has been taken down and that gives the Night King the ultimate chance to destroy Westeros with his might. Bran and Mr. Gorbachev are the two characters who are likely to be the culprit of the falling down of the Wall.
