It seems that fans of the highly-acclaimed fighting game "Injustice 2" have a lot to expect for the game's upcoming release, as Ed Boon has recently disclosed what most of the fans have voted as the next "Non-Mortal Kombat" guest character in the game. Moreover, it seems that a director for a "Mortal Kombat" reboot has already been chosen.

It was recently reported that Ed Boon (one of the brains behind "Injustice 2, co-creator of the renowned fighting game "Mortal Kombat" and creative director for NetherRealm Studios) has revealed two guest characters for the highly-anticipated fighting video game, Attack of the Fanboy has learned.

It was stated that Boon posted via his Twitter account the results of a few polls revealing what fans have decided on which "Mortal Kombat" and "Non-Mortal Kombat" characters they want to be featured in the next installment of "Injustice."

As for the "Non-Mortal Kombat" character, Boon tweeted what seems to be the fans voicing out their opinion of wanting "Spawn," an anti-hero fictional character from a comic book series of the same name created by Todd McFarlane, to be featured in "Injustice 2."

The result of the poll showed "Spawn" beating three other candidates, namely "Hellboy," Terminator" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," by a landslide. With a 45 percent lead over the three characters, it seems that the fans are pretty adamant that they want "Spawn" to be the next "Non-Mortal Kombat" guest character for the upcoming "Injustice 2."

In other news, it seems that the "Mortal Kombat" reboot has finally found its director. It was recently reported that Simon McQuoid (who is known for directing ad commercials) is currently in talks to direct the upcoming reboot of the acclaimed "Mortal Kombat" movie, Variety learned.

It seems that fans of NetherRealm Studios have a lot to look forward to as both "Injustice 2" and a "Mortal Kombat" reboot is slated to be released sometime in the future.
